3 in 1 Pushchairs

by PramLady

When you choose to purchase a 3 in 1 pushchair you can travel virtually anywhere. The pram can be used for your newborn plus the car seat is ideal for this age too.  As your baby gets older you will start using the pushchair, and many models have a forward and backwards facing functionality.

A 3 in 1 pushchair has the following features:

  • A pushchair unit - this is a separate seat that can be attached to the chassis and has the option of facing forwards or backwards.
  • A pram unit - this is a separate carrycot with its own mattress, which will attach to the chassis. It usually comes with a hood, which may also be attached to the pushchair. The added advantage is that the carrycot can also be used for your baby to sleep in separately from the pushchair.
  • A chassis - this is a set of wheels attached to the frame of the pushchair that helps you collapse the pushchair easily. It also comes equipped with a shopping tray. Plus in some models you can use the carrycot as a car seat, using the safety harnesses it comes with.

A 3-in-1 pushchair is suitable for a newborn baby plus children of young ages. The carrycot adds to the features giving you increased flexibility particularly if you are planning to stay away from home. Because all parts fit together there is no need to store the items you’re not using.

The advantages of purchasing a 3 in 1 pushchair include minimising the cost. You have one cost outlay that covers a baby for travelling and sleeping. They also offer extra safety and comfort with added padding. It is also advantageous because as the car seat can be attached to the chassis there is less chance of waking a baby while they are sleeping when you move them into a car.

However like any pushchair there are a few disadvantages. A 3 in 1 pushchair can be a little bulky when it is packed away plus it can be more difficult at times turning it from a pushchair to a pram.

Despite the downsides above you are definitely guaranteed extra versatility if you go for a 3 in 1 pushchair rather than a conventional type.
